OAPA Receives 2026 AAPA Advocacy Grant Funding to Advance PA Practice in Ohio

Advocacy Is Not Optional Graphic

The Ohio Association of Physician Assistants (OAPA) is excited to share that we are again the recipients of an AAPA Advocacy Grant!

The American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) Board of Directors makes funding available to AAPA constituent organizations (COs) pursuing advocacy initiatives that will improve the PA practice environment in the states, District of Columbia, and US territories.

In late 2025, OAPA submitted a grant proposal requesting financial support for impactful advocacy in 2026. OAPA seeks not only to advance the interests of PAs in our state but also to serve as a model and catalyst for other AAPA constituent organizations to enhance their advocacy efforts and advance the PA profession nationwide.

Grant funding will be leveraged to support OAPA's legislative advocacy efforts in 2026. In addition to the financial support, AAPA staff will continue providing strategic advocacy and communications assistance to strengthen OAPA's effort to enact impactful legislative changes.

OAPA members, and all Ohio PAs, are encouraged to stay informed about legislative matters impacting PAs by monitoring the OAPA website.

And, if you have strong expertise in one or more specialty areas of PA practice, please raise your hand to serve as one of OAPA's Go-To Experts so that we can turn to you when pertinent legislation comes along and we need member feedback and stories to share with legislators.
