House Bill 73, which presents multiple significant risks to patient safety and Ohio's healthcare practice integrity, will have a 4th hearing in the Senate Health Committee on December 11. OAPA has submitted additional opposition testimony in effort to defeat this bill.
LEGISLATIVE ALERT: OAPA Gives Further Interested Party Testimony on SB 196
Senate Bill 196 regarding global signature authority for APRNs, which was passed by the Ohio Senate in June, had a 3rd hearing in the House Health Provider Services Committee on December 10. OAPA Immediate Past President Matthew Freado again gave interested party testimony, seeking the addition of PAs to this common sense, practice-advancing bill.
OAPA Receives AAPA Advocacy Grant Funding for an Impactful 2025 Legislative Year
In October, OAPA submitted a grant proposal requesting financial support for an impactful, game-changing legislative year in 2025. OAPA seeks not only to advance the interests of PAs in our state but also to serve as a model and catalyst for other AAPA constituent organizations to enhance their advocacy efforts and advance the PA profession nationwide. We are excited to announce that AAPA has awarded OAPA with grant funding!
