PA Week 2026: Meet an Ohio PA - Paulette Grant, PA-C
OAPA is proud to join the PA community in Ohio and across the nation in celebrating PA Week 2026.
Throughout the week, we are featuring PAs from around the state and sharing updates on our website and social media. We’re also reaching out to nonmember PAs, encouraging them to get involved and join our growing community. A stronger, more connected PA network in Ohio brings us closer to our shared vision - making Ohio the premier state for PAs.
PA Week Profile of the Day: Paulette Grant, PA-C
Paulette Grant, PA-C, has been a PA for 40 years, graduating from Gannon University in 1986. One of her first jobs was in hospital medicine at Euclid General Hospital, now Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital. At that time in Ohio, PAs could not be employed by hospitals, so they worked under other titles such as staff assistant or clinical associate. Paulette likes to think of this work as pioneering hospital medicine before it was organized and popular!
At Euclid, Paulette was honored to work with some of the best -- the OGs -- like John Trimbath, Dave Ballinger, Ken Herbold, and others who have shaped our profession in Ohio, and through their advocacy, have made PA practice in Ohio what is is today.
Although Paulette has had different PA jobs over the years, for the last 3 years she has been employed in hospital medicine at Cleveland Clinic Avon, currently working as a night shift PA. She loves the fast pace of hospital medicine and the opportunity to utilize clinical assessment skills to make a difference in patient care.
"The most rewarding aspect for me in being a PA is having the opportunity and privilege to meet people where they are, and at times when they are most vulnerable, provide some education and insight on their plan, and hopefully ease their burden, even when prognosis or outcomes may be unfavorable."
This year, Paulette will celebrate PA Week with her colleagues at Avon Hospital, and also hopefully share a dinner out with her husband, Pete.
Cheers to your four incredible decades as a PA, Paulette, and Happy PA Week!
