“HPA Axis Unplugged: Clinical Approaches to Cortisol Disorders"

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore the diagnostic approach to Cushing's Syndrome, with emphasis on understanding the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal Axis
  • Review clinical presentation and diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency, as well as review common secondary causes.
  • Discuss clinical scenarios to identify patients for screening for endocrine disorder.
  • Identify current pharmacological treatment options for Cushing's Syndrome.

Speaker Information:

Bizon HeadshotBraden Bizon is a PA with NOMS healthcare in Concord, OH. He attended Gannon University’s 5-year PA program and received his Doctor of Medical Science degree from Shenandoah University. He has clinical experience in primary care, obesity medicine, and medical aesthetics. Outside of clinic, Braden serves as the OAPA Secretary-Treasurer, and his previous speaking experience includes the 2026 virtual pharmacology series. In addition to his work with the OAPA, Braden works with the Ohio Society of Dermatology PAs as the provider liaison. When he is not seeing patients, Braden is an avid traveler, with the goal of visiting every National Park. He has been to 21/63 parks, with his top recommendation being Ohio’s very own Cuyahoga Valley National Park!
