  • Define purpose of LVAD and identify appropriate clinical parameters in consideration of durable mechanical circulatory support
  • Describe significance of RV function pre- and post-VAD insertion
  • Identify and interpret relevant data in management both acute and chronic RV failure in LVAD patient population.

Speaker Information:

Z. Giffin HeadshotZahava Giffin, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner at Cleveland Clinic with 15 years of critical care experience. She began her career as a Neuro ICU nurse and later practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in the Medical ICU during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2024, she joined the Advanced Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support team, specializing in advanced heart failure and LVAD management. When she’s not caring for critically ill patients, Zahava can be found attempting to keep up with her husband, four children, and a very snobby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with an outsized sense of self-importance.
