CME Webinar: Beta-Lactams Considerations for Antibiotic Selection

Join us for this virtual event and earn CME* as we learn more about Beta-Lactams Considerations for Antibiotic Selection with Dr. Erik M. Wasowski, Pharm.D. BCPS.

This program includes discussion of beta-lactam antibiotics and common clinical questions surrounding dosage formulation, spectra of activity, and allergies.

By attending this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss penicillin and cephalosporin generations spectra of activity
  • Analyze pharmacokinetic data to determine IV to PO transitions
  • Compose therapeutic regimens for patients with documented penicillin/cephalosporin allergies

Wasowski Erik 140518 LDr. Erik M. Wasowski, Pharm.D. BCPS is a clinical pharmacy specialist at Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital and assistant professor of pharmacy practice at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He graduated pharmacy school with his doctorate in pharmacy at the University of Toledo in 2021 and completed post graduate residency at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in 2022. His clinical service includes supporting a 12-bed medical intensive care unit at Euclid Hospital. He also serves as the pharmacy residency program coordinator which includes precepting multiple pharmacy residents and pharmacy students in the last year of the Doctor of Pharmacy program from Northeast Ohio Medical University. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys playing tennis and enjoying the many Metroparks within northeast Ohio with his wife Kristin and daughter Aurora.
