Pain Management in the ED: New Frontiers and Best Practices

• Determine initial approach and evaluation of patient’s needs
• Review traditional pain management practices including metabolism and pharmacology
• Describe new approaches to pain management including non-pharmacological
• Different pokes for different folks: tailor control of pain to the situation/available tools/individual patient

Speaker Biography:

Dr. Seitz is a board certified Emergency Physician and Family Medicine Physician who has been in practice for 42 years. He teaches courses in collaboration with the Department of Defense and the Cleveland Clinic. He currently works at Cleveland Clinic and previously was Chair of Emergency Medicine at St. John (Westshore) Medical Center in Westlake.
