Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors: Recognition and Management of Potential Toxicities

Learning Objectives:
- Review the mechanism of actions and indications of immune checkpoint inhibitors
- Recognize the presentations of the most common immune-related adverse events (irAEѕ) associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors
- Formulate an appropriate management plan in a patient with an immune checkpoint inhibitor irAEѕ.
Speaker Biography:
Brad Pierce, MSPAS, PA-C, has over a decade of experience working in hematology and oncology. He has worked in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, providing care for patients undergoing cancer treatments and management of complex side effects. His interests include immunotherapy and improving the recognition and management of toxicities associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors, a topic he is passionate about sharing with colleagues. Brad is continuing his academic teaching career as an associate professor at the Marietta College PA Program, where he is the lead instructor for the pathophysiology courses.
