Candidate Sought for State Medical Board's PA Policy Committee (PAPC)
The State Medical Board of Ohio (SMBO) is seeking applications for a licensed physician assistant to join the Physician Assistant Policy Committee (PAPC).
This role offers the opportunity to shape policies on licensing, regulations, and prescriptive authority, with a 2-year term involving virtual meetings (typically quarterly). Details about the PAPC can be found in the Ohio Revised Code.
Per OAPA policy, OAPA is hereby notifying the membership of a pending vacancy on the PAPC and soliciting candidates by electronic means. The OAPA Board of Directors will review and finalize a list of candidates to send to the SMBO by their stated deadline. The SMBO will be responsible for making the final appointment to the PAPC.

Also, the letter MUST address these two points, and may include other relevant information as desired:
- Please describe any relevant experience as a physician assistant that would qualify you to serve as a council member of the Physician Assistant Policy Committee.
- Identify an issue related to your practice that you believe should be addressed by Physician Assistant Policy Committee. Please provide an explanation as to why this is an important issue for the council to discuss for the improvement of the practice in Ohio.
