Techniques and Applications in Wound Closure & Biosurgery [BASIC & ADVANCED]

Presented by Steve Wurzelbacher, PA-C, Mercy Health


Workshop #1 will cover suturing at a BASIC level from 8-10 a.m.

Workshop #2 covering more ADVANCED skills from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.


Workshop #1: Basic Techniques and Applications in Wound Closure & Biosurgery

Basic Program Objectives:

  • Review the impact and importance of Hemostasis and Wound Closure in surgery on the patient, the healthcare provider, and the hospital.
  • Review hemostasis sites, situations, and solutions.
  • Review basic wound closure techniques, and product solutions.

Workshop #2: Advanced Techniques and Applications in Wound Closure & Biosurgery

Advanced Program Objectives:

  • Review the impact and importance of Hemostasis and Wound Closure in surgery on the patient, the healthcare provider, and the hospital.
  • Review hemostasis sites, situations, and solutions.
  • Review advanced wound closure techniques, and product solutions.

Speaker Biography:

Steve WurzelbacherWith 31 years of experience, including 10 years in Orthopedic/Spine and 21 years in Adult Reconstructive Surgery, Steve Wurzelbacher, PA-C, is a seasoned expert in the field. Currently, he works at an after-hours clinic at Mercy Health. Steve holds a Physician Assistant degree from Kettering College, with prior education from Roger Bacon and Xavier University. In his free time, he enjoys golfing.
