"The ABCs of Trauma Resuscitation" with Morgan Williams, PA-C: 2024 OAPA Annual Conference Speaker Feature

PAs must be ready for anything to save lives.

Join us at the 2024 OAPA Annual Conference for "The ABCs of Trauma Resuscitation."

Morgan WilliamsMorgan Williams, PA-C, University Hospitals, will cover this important topic during her session at the upcoming 2024 OAPA Annual Conference. She will help attendees evaluate the critically injured patient by recalling the essential components of the trauma exam, diagnose life-threatening traumatic injuries by analyzing lab results and interpreting adjunctive images, and predict early cardiovascular collapse and develop a treatment plan to prevent death.

We recently caught up with Morgan to ask more about this important session:

OAPA:
Why are you excited to present to the OAPA audience on this topic?

Morgan:
I am passionate about the stabilization of trauma patients because it is one of the few areas of medicine that every second truly matters -- and MOST patients get better!

OAPA:
What do you think might surprise people about this topic?

Morgan:
You never know what is going to come through the trauma bay doors. We see so many different injuries and stories. BUT, when it really comes down to it, if you do the same assessment every time, for every patient, you will never miss an injury.

OAPA:
What do you love being a PA?

Morgan:
I love being a PA because I have the flexibility to see all sides of medicine. Procedures, medical management, critical care, actually spending time with the patients. Educating patients, their families and students.
