PA Program Spotlight: University of Findlay

The University of Findlay PA program is continuously growing and is excited to share our most recent activities  over the last semester. The current students are excited to continue in their PA school journey as  they navigate through the rest of their semesters. The University of Findlay’s PA program is well known for its high-quality education, collaboration, and overall excellence in preparing students to become compassionate, professional, and exceptional entry-level  Physician Assistants. The University of Findlay’s PA program was introduced in the 1997-1998 academic year. The most recent graduating class, 2023 cohort, of 19 students have just begun their PA-C journey. Since then, 22 students have begun their clinical rotations, 23 students are in their third semester of didactic year, and 24 new students will be starting in the Fall. Over the past two semesters, the 2025 cohort has volunteered at a variety of places including: Hancock Public Health department, local churches, and local Findlay High Schools introducing the PA profession. They have also participated in The University Findlay’s annual Healthy Kids day partnering with Findlay Family YMCA, Blanchard Valley Health Systems, and Hancock Public Health. The initiative is to improve overall health of kids while giving opportunities for different programs in the community to share resources with families. The PA students engaged with variety of aged kids by showing proper hand-washing techniques, testing different sensory nerves, allowing them to listen to heart sounds, and even face-painting! 

As the summer continues, the 2025 cohort are preparing to start mini-clinical experiences in their 3rd semester of didactic year. This unique experience prepares students with skills and direct patient care before starting clinicals. The 2024 cohort is eager to expand their knowledge and skills as they are navigating through their 4th clinical rotation. Additionally, students are preparing for the PA OlymPAcs on June 29th at Ohio Dominican University as well as preparing activities for the new cohort as they start in the Fall. Additional events in the Fall include hosting The University of Findlay’s PA program annual CME symposium of student research, annual Arch Ceremony for the incoming cohort, and White Coat Ceremony for graduating students in December.
