More than 100 PA students, faculty, recruiters, and OAPA leadership took part in the 2026 PA OlymPAcs, an annual field day-style event that unites PA students from across Ohio for friendly competition and fundraising. Joint AAPA & PAEA Effort to Overturn PA Student Loan Rule Gets a Win
In a big victory for students, the profession, and patients, a federal court has granted preliminary relief blocking implementation of the U.S. Department of Education’s new regulatory definition of “professional degree” while litigation brought by AAPA and PAEA challenging the rule proceeds. As a result, the rule will not go into effect on July 1 as originally planned. Read more about this from AAPA.

Ohio Speaks Out to Preserve PA Student Loan Access
Ohio PAs are taking action. Through AAPA's coordination, OAPA is urging congressional leaders to protect student loan access for PA students. Without this funding pathway, the pipeline of future PAs is at risk, and with it, Ohioans' access to the affordable, high-quality care PAs provide every day.
