Physician Assistant
UC Physicians
UC Physicians Inc., Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Spine Division, is seeking a full time Physician Assistant to practice at multiple site locations. Routine local travel between practice sites is required. Practice is primarily located in West Chester, Oh but candidate will be expected to see patients independently in Wilmington OH and round on postoperative patients at Clinton Memorial Hospital and West Chester Hospital.
Responsibilities of this position include:
• Rounding on postoperative patients, some weekend rounding is required.
• Initiate orders needed for patient care
• Work one-on-one with one orthopaedic spine surgeon.
• Assist in operating room primarily with spine surgery and some general orthopaedic cases
• Actively participate in the discharge process.
• Assist and independently bill for clinic patients.
• Participate in the post-operative care of patients.
• Provides continuity of care, improving quality of care to patients
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualified candidates must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the State of Ohio Medical Board which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program. Experience in orthopaedic surgery preferred but not required. It is preferred for candidates to have a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Prescription Authority and prior Spine and/or Orthopaedic Surgery experience.
