Rev. Josanne Kissel Pagel M.Div., MPAS, PA-C, DFAAPA, C-EBS, Karuna®RMT, will cover this important topic during her session at the upcoming 2024 OAPA Annual Conference. She will review how a bill becomes law, identify the priorities/needs of Ohio practicing PAs and the barriers to those needs in the law, and discuss the current bills passed and in process for 2024 along with plans for the new legislative session in 2025.
We recently caught up with Josanne to ask her more about this important session she is planning.
OAPA:
Why are you excited to present to the OAPA audience on this topic?
Josanne:
Updating our members on new laws, policies, and rules in the State of Ohio is critical to their success in their practice. Every year, there is a lot going on in the Ohio Statehouse and OAPA's mission is to keep our members informed.
OAPA:
What do you think might surprise people about this topic?
Josanne:
The recent laws that have passed can be considered surprising!
OAPA:
Why do you love being a PA?
Josanne:
As a long time PA leader, I love opening doors for other PAs to enhance their practices and careers. I look forward to seeing friends every year at the OAPA Annual Conference.
OAPA:
Tell us something about your life outside of work.
Josanne:
I'm a certified Executive Bourbon Steward and Ordained Minister. So if you like to hear about bourbon or need an officiant, I'm your person!
