“Why” Inspires “Why”: The Impact of Precepting
Presented by Teresa Groh, PA-C, and Jennifer Garrett, PA-C, Mount St. Joseph University
Learning Objectives:
- Reflect on your “why” as a physician assistant and recognize how this can be enhanced through precepting.
- Gain an understanding of the mutual positive impact PA students and preceptors acquire through their collaboration.
- Identify ways of precepting and mentoring to inspire future generations of PAs.
Speaker Biographies:
Teresa Groh has been a physician assistant since 2011, when she graduated from the University of Toledo. Her PA career started in Emergency Medicine. In 2013, she transitioned to Family Medicine where she is still practicing. She joined the Mount St. Joseph University PA program in 2022 as Principal Faculty and in 2023, she was promoted to Clinical Director.
Jen Garrett has been a physician assistant since 1999, when she graduated from Butler University. She has practiced in pediatric oncology and gastroenterology, as well as adult gastroenterology, oncology and solid organ transplant. She transitioned to PA education at Mount St. Joseph University in 2019 and was the Clinical Director until 2023 when she took over as Program Director.
