| | The bi-partisan HB670 Physician Associate Professional Title change bill has been introduced in the Ohio House of Representatives, co-sponsored by Reps. Rachel Baker and Nick Santucci. This bill would change the professional title used by physician assistants to "physician associate" throughout the Ohio Revised Code. |
| | The Bylaws Committee and Executive Director conducted additional review of the OAPA Bylaws after the Spring 2024 vote and found areas needing further attention, primarily for grammar, standardization, and clarity purposes. Voting members of OAPA will soon be asked to adopt the Bylaws amendments as presented. |
| | As providers, we want our patients to be informed about their health. Empowering patients to take ownership of their care is crucial. The real issue lies in timing. When a patient discovers concerning findings, like potential malignancy, from their smartphone before I have a chance to deliver the news in person—before I can offer comfort and empathy—that's a problem. |

The amendments reflect changes in federal law and allow prescribers to safely provide needed treatment to vulnerable patients. |

The honor recognizes outstanding front-line health care workers from OHA member hospitals who consistently go above and beyond, embody the mission and values of their organization and give back to the community. Submissions will be accepted until Nov. 30, 2024. |
