Do You Believe In Ohio P As

Every contribution to the OAPA Political Action Committee (PAC) increases our ability to build lasting relationships and provide strategic, nonpartisan financial support for candidates and lawmakers who stand up for the PA profession and the patients we serve.

What is a Political Action Committee (PAC)?

A PAC is an entity that supports or opposes candidates, political parties, or issues. The contributors to a PAC, and the recipients of PAC funds, are publicly accessible via the Secretary of State's website.

How are OAPA PAC funds used?

The funds support PA engagement in candidate fundraisers, roundtables, and other events that create opportunities to meet legislators, have conversations, establish credibility, and develop relationships.

Why does this matter?

We are competing for attention, particularly with historically powerful and well-funded physician and nursing groups, in a political environment where relationships and access matter. The OAPA PAC helps us to invest in relationships so that Ohio PAs are considered as future legislation that will impact our profession, and our patients, is being written, debated, and passed.

Are my membership dues used for candidate contributions?

OAPA membership dues do not support the PAC. A portion of dues income, along with all contributions to OAPA's Legislative Fund, underwrite OAPA's advocacy and lobbying efforts. The PAC is a separate entity with its own finances and unique purpose unrelated to member dues.

Who can contribute to the PAC?

  • OAPA members who are U.S. citizens may contribute.
  • Contributions must be made only using a personal credit card or check.
  • Corporate contributions are not permitted.
  • In 2026, an individual may contribute up to $16,615.67 under current Ohio limits.
  • Contributions are not tax deductible.

Bottom Line:

  • If you are an OAPA member and U.S. citizen and you want to support Ohio state-level candidates responsible for critical policy decisions that impact your practice → Give to the OAPA PAC
  • If you are any person who wants to support OAPA in our efforts to advocate and advance legislation on behalf of the Ohio PA community → Give to the OAPA Legislative Fund
  • If you want the voice of Ohio PAs to be heard loud and clear in the Ohio Statehouse → Give to BOTH!

Every contribution to the OAPA Political Action Committee helps us continue building the relationships that will determine how our profession is represented in the future.

We cannot expect a seat at the table if we are unwilling to invest in getting there.
